Cobra Dragon Boat Regatta 2013 - Leg 4

Late post: It has been more than a month when we had the Final Leg for Cobra Dragon Boat Regatta 2013 and now finally I was able to post about the event. It was held last December 8, 2013 in Manila Bay along Roxas Boulevard.

Cobra Dragon Boat Regatta Finals is the most anticipated event for the year wherein all total scores from Leg 1, Leg 2, Leg 3 and Leg 4 will be sum up to determine the overall winners. I am so proud to say that my team, Onslaught Racing Dragons, was victorious for the year 2013. Our men's crew was able to capture  4th on overall rankings with Buhi Cam Sur, Philippine Army, and Philippine Coastguard. It was a great year for us again to be upstage and receive our award. It was such a great feeling wherein all the hard works and strong determination of our team was paid off.

TV5 News Reporter, Renzie Ongkiko, got to cover the event and interviewed our team. Luckily, my sub-group was chosen to represent our team: Mel, Chzar, Paula, Edz, Jordan and me. Great to know that Renzie was also a paddler during his college days. Go check out our pictures with him.

Looking great and excited after the interview before the race starts. Loading area was busy and all teams are all excited as the race heats up. Heat 1, Heat 2, Heat 3 and so forth. Then Repechage 1, Repechage 2 and so forth. Semis and the most awaited race, Finals. We all had the chance to be at the semis this last leg.

We were eliminated that early, after the semis, we were just waiting for the overall results to know if what is our stand for the year. While waiting off course, taking pictures is what keeps us busy when not on the boat competing. Well my team loves to take as many pictures as we can. Pose here and there. Also, we always remember God's guidance before and after the race.

Solemnly Praying as ONE!

So proud that I was one of the men's crew who were able to receive a medal. I completed the 4 Legs and that made me eligible to have one. It was such a great achievement for me that I need to sacrifice my love for running just to train hard and paddle hard for the team. It was all worth it. Still looking forward for more races to come. I am so proud, I Am Onslaught.

My first ever medal for dragon boat :)

Enchanted Kingdom: Sta. Rosa City, Laguna

Last stop for the field trip is Enchanted Kingdom! Oh yes, I am definitely lucky to join the field trip of my niece that is because it was my first time to visit this theme park. Off course, I enjoyed the place with her, strolling here and there. Playing with her and enjoying rides which she wanted to try. I am there to support her so she will be able to enjoy the trip. If only I was with my colleagues at my age then definitely I will try all the rides. Haha! Enchanted brings a new experience.

With my cousin and niece. :)
We also had a great time watching a Christmas show presented by great performers, Enchante. There we got time to take a rest for an hour before hitting some other rides. My niece was amazed on the show. Well I can say that their performance was great. The show was great and it is recommended for families especially those who got kids with them.

Chilling with Enchante, white clothes pls!!! Haha
I also had a great time playing inside the theme park. So happy when I got a stuffed toy, I named it "Arf-Arf" Haha... off course, I played it once again so that my niece will also have one. She named it Maxene. That was a great experience to cherish. New places for new experiences.

This is what I've got... Arf Arf and Maxene

Galinco Factory: Calamba City, Laguna

Second stop was Galinco (Grand Alphatech Inernational Corporation) in Calamba City, Laguna. This is where yummy chips were being produced. Just loving the field trip of my niece, seems like I enjoyed more than her. Haha!

Educational Tour Guidelines!
While my niece was on tour and film viewing, I went to their store and bought some of the chips! Haha! Just love getting things and putting on my grocery bag, well price is a lot cheaper as compared when buying at the grocery stores in the mall. Off course, I will not be leaving the premises without taking some pictures!

Pick what you want.

Gardenia Bakeries (Philippines) Inc.: Biñan, Laguna

I was asked by my cousin to join her to accompany our niece for their field trip in Laguna. After checking my timetable, alas, I am free on the said date and I said YES! So then I asked the itineraries, it includes Gardenia Bakeries. Wooaaaahhhhh I was excited then because I will be able to see their plant. Well, I am an avid consumer of their products. No doubt about that.

With my niece, Bella.

Unluckily, we were not able to have our plant tour because there was an emergency inside the plant and something needed to be fixed. So there, better luck next time. Lucky enough I was able to take some shots for their delivery trucks getting out of the plant for deliveries.

The Gardenia Tour is open to everyone. Their tour provides a better appreciation and understanding of modern bread preparation. Tour hours is open Mondays-Fridays and Sundays 0700-1600.
