Singapore Visit II

On my first day, I visited a lot of places in the city but time was not good enough to visit all great places. My second day was great.

I remember the place where the minister of Singapore lives.

It was great. As I enjoyed some of the historic places in Singapore. Where my friends narrated me some of what he knows.

The black elephant monument, If I I can recall what my friend told me is a gift from the Thai government as a sign of unity among the two countries.

I imitated some of the monuments I saw. It is Raffles monument, there is the black and the white version. The monument was made in honor of Sir Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles, a British statesman, and best known for finding the city of Singapore. He is often described as the "Father of Singapore".

Hope I imitated it well. See for yourself. LOL.

I as well visited the famous Fort Canning. It is a slight hill 60 meters high. It has a long history as the highest elevation within walking distance to the civic district of the city.

To sum up, my Singapore vacation was awesome. Hope to get back there once again and see some of the new tourist's destination.

Singapore Visit

I never thought I would have a chance to visit Singapore at an early age. I visited Singapore when I was 20 with the help of my friend, who is Singaporean. It is my first time to ride on an airplane. I took the flight from Subic Airport in Pampanga with the budget aircraft, Tiger Airways.

I took the flight at around 17:00 and the travel time is about more or less 3 hours. I arrived at Singapore around 20:00. I was picked up by my friend and we headed to Changi Airport for dinner.

Just want to share some selected pics on my first day in Singapore.

It was great strolling around the city. Was so amazed with the man made structures that I have not seen yet in Manila. The views was fantastic. The city is so clean.

I also got the time to visit Little India, Serangoon Plaza, People's Park Centre and different great shopping malls.

And also enjoyed my time traveling around the city utilizing the train...

Merlion

Merlion serves as the trademark symbol of Singapore. It is an imaginary creatures which combines the head of the lion and the body of a fish. It also combines the name "mer" meaning sea and lion.

The head of the lion represents the Singapore's original name "Singapura" meaning Lion City.

From the Merlion statue, you can view the Esplande and the Marina Bay.

A far view you can still see the image of the Merlion, the Fullerton Hotel and different building structures and Marina Bay.

Singapore River

Singapore River is one of the tourist attractions in Singapore. It also plays an important rule in the history of Singapore. It flows from the Central Area, which lies in the Central Region before it empties to the ocean.

Great views along the river. I enjoyed a lot of things as I stroll behind the river. I enjoyed every moment of it.

Fullerton Hotel Singapore

One of the most memorable hotel that I visited when I was in Singapore is the Fullerton Hotel. It is a five-star luxury hotel located near the mouth of the Singapore River, in the Downtown Core, Central Singapore.

The building facilities is great! Love the interior designs.

Fullerton Hotel was originally known as The Fullerton Building and also as the General Post Office Building. It was names after Robert Fullerton, the first Governor of the Straits Settlements.

I enjoyed the lobby, they also got Koi fish on the lobby where there's a fountain. The outside view of the hotel was magnificent. Where just few blocks away from the famous Merlion.
