Davao City, Davao del Sur

I have got the chance to visit Davao City when I attended the RTV15 in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur. When I heard about Davao City, I easily remember the famous durian fruit and Mt. Apo, which is the highest mountain in the Philippines. Durian, the king of fruits, distinctive for its size, unique odor and thorn-covered husk.

Taking flight PR 811 at 09:00 at NAIA Terminal 2, we landed at Davao International Airport at 10:50. At the arrival area, you can already smell the scent of the durian fruit. Maybe because most of the visitors who goes back to Manila got some pasalubongs.

It was hot that time as the summer season still at its peak. The airport got great view as the city really welcomes every visitors.

We took some minutes to take a rest and headed to our destination in Surigao del Sur. On our way, we stopped at Arman's eatery. Forgive me, for I forgot the exact location (maybe somewhere in Compostela Valley) I enjoyed sinigang na bangus for my lunch.

After a week of seminar, time to get back to Manila again. We left Bislig City earlier so we have more time to visit Davao City.

We headed to Aldevinco Shopping Center. Aldevinco is located between Claro M. Recto and Manuel Roxas Avenues. It is a place to go for antiques and ethnic products. It showcases the cultural and heritage of Mindanao.

Bought some sarongs and room decors at Aldevinco. Got also the chance to see Ateneo De Davao University which is just on the other side of the street and also the Marco Polo Hotel.

Before going back to Manila, we checked-in at the Forest Drive for us to take a nap before the flight to energize ourselves from the one week seminar.

Wish someday I can visit the city again so I can see more interesting places in the city.
