MBC Manila Bay Sea Sports Festival 2013

Stage all Set!
My second race for the year! It's Manila Bay Seasports Festival, simply MBC Race. In every race, different goals and with different emotions. Well, I already had my first race during the First Leg of Regatta but still I got nervous. Haha! I just do not know why. Well maybe I am excited to be on the race again. Great weather on early Sunday morning. Definitely hotter during noon time but who cares for as long as you love what you are doing then you will not care about the hot weather. All you care is to paddle hard and win every race.

One fine weather!

One fine weather!
Warm up only means that race is about to start. Count on: 1,2,3 ONE! 1,2,3 TWO, so forth and so on! It is a way of gearing up our muscles to be at their relaxed state when loading on the boat. It is always a lot better to warm up before doing some heavy physical activities. After all, dragon boat is not an easy activity. Funny is that, we even occupied the South-bound lane of Roxas Boulevard to warm up. Our team got two entries on Opens Crew (ORDs Angas and ORDs Bangis) and for Mixed Crews.

Side twist! 1,2,3... ONE!

Chest Expander: Ready!
Now sharing with you our team in action. Before going to starting lane and during the actual race events. Be sure to have a 20/20 vision so you can spot where I am being positioned. LOL. I am bow-side paddler, meaning I am seated at left side of the boat. FYI, stroke-side on the other hand, is positioned at the right side of the boat.
Coach Butch of Philippine Army is our steersman!

Oars Up!

3rd Man Bow Side!
Once in a while, still got the chance to bond with my team mates. So taking pictures here and there was a lot of fun. Sad to say, my team did not perform well during the race. That's how sports is, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. Whatever the result is, you just have to accept, that's the spirit of sportsmanship. Even if the results were unfavorable, we still enjoyed the race and also enjoyed the company of each members of the team. After all, we are one. We are a team. We are Onslaught Racing Dragons!

Cobra Dragon Boat Regatta 2013 - Leg 1

Cobra Dragon Boat Regatta 2013 Leg 1 was happened couple of days after Chinese New Year Dragon Boat Race. The preparation we had during the Chinese New Year was great and we made it more intense in preparation for the first leg of Regatta.

The weather for the first leg was gloomy. Rain showers in the early and that made the event more challenging. I was not able to take a lot of pictures during the race because I took time to rest whenever I am not on the boat. The race was breath taking, I was to tired when the race was over. Haha! I went home directly to take a rest. Our teams' result was below par than the performance during the previous Chinese New Year Dragon Boat Race.
