Potipot Island: Candelaria, Zambales

It has been my plan (year/s to be exact) to include in my itinerary to visit this wonderful Potipot Island in Zambales. After conquering Anawangin Cove, this island came to my fantasy. Can't help myself but to show amusement every time I read posts about this small island. Daydreaming that one day I can as well step on this island. It was only after more or less than 2 years when that dream came into reality.

Lucky enough to be a part of the dragon boat team, I had a chance to join my team at the 2nd Zambales Dragon Boat Festival held in Uacon Lake, Candelaria. I knew then that after race, the team would also visit some places in the province. Potipot Island trip was included on our itinerary! That made me more excited to join the team on the said race. Well, side trips is also part of every race where each member can enjoy the place and can create more bonding moments.

With my fellow paddlers... We are... Onslaught!
Right after the first day of the race, the team decided to visit the island. We first enjoyed playing Frisbee on the shore before boarding to the island. So much excited to step on the island after all its has been my dream to visit the place. After arriving, no time was lost, taking pictures here and there! Love the white-powdery sand. The crystal clear water makes you eager to swim! I expected the island to be crowded it is because it it summer! More and more people coming from Manila and nearby places to spend their summer here to beat the heat.

With my colleagues: Nery and Maisie
The island is small that you can stroll it within an hour. Tents here and there! Love to see people enjoying their time in the island. We also got our share to stroll and visit the whole island. Taking pictures every time our eyes feast for the scenery. Now I will share those pictures captured by my camera. Let your eyes feast too as we did!

Big dead tree: one of the landmark of the island.

Sharing more pictures of the island. Good enough for half day visit right?! You can as well stay there for overnight for as long as you have your tent with you. Bring lights in case you want to stay there for the whole night because there is no electricity! One of the good reason why the island is a friendly destination, boat ride will only take about 5-10 minutes ride from the main island. There you can enjoy the 7.5 hectare small island. Definitely I want to go back here with new circle of travel buddies!
