A Quick Visit to Burot Beach in Calatagan, Batangas

I have been reading left and right posts about this beach last year. "Burot! Burot! Burot!" I have been uttering those words summer of last year but never head a chance to visit this wonderful beach in Calatagan, Batangas.

Not until Karen Celeste, my office mate, was forced to bring me there (Oh well pupunta kasi siya ng abroad kaya nag-resign sa work, hahanap daw kasi ng boyfriend, akalain mo iyon? Haha!) She lives in Calatagan and it is also a great opportunity to visit her family.

I invited my close friends from dragon boat! Well, Lauvee and Maureen couldn't say no after seeing the pictures of the beach. Yebah! We got all excited. I also invited my travel friends that I have met on my Bataan travel, sadly, they were not available.

Maureen, slept in our house a night before our trip. We slept early (kaunting daldalan lang kasi pagod sa work tapos maaga pang aalis ng bahay, hehe) On our trip, we decided to pick up Lauvee because she was along on our way. Then baaaaaaam, stepped on the bus, bound for Nasugbu. As decided, we will take a nap while riding on the bus but because we were re-united after a couple of months, I tell you, we didn't have a good nap (nagsama-sama ba naman ang mga madadaldal, hahaha!) When we finally decided to take a sleep, seriously, we were already in Lian, Batangas, our bus stop (kakaloka talaga diba, sira talaga buhay ko kapag kasama ko itong dalawang mga dilag na ito, kidding).

Special Lomi from Lian, Batangas

We stepped-off from the bus and we strolled around the town (bago gumala, nag-wiwi muna kami sa brgy hall, ihing-ihi na kaming lahat sa tagal ng byahe noh hehe). Stomach is crying and needed to be filled up. We decided to look for something special, a locally made lomi, yes a lomi freshly made in Batangas. We were all happy after filling up our stomach, even happier when we got our bill. We got more than what we paid for, seriously. (Anggggg shaaaaaahhhhraaaaappp faaaahhh graveeehhhh!)

Maureen, Lauvee and the Blogger

After we had our breakfast, we again hit the road for about 30 minutes before we reached the town proper of Calatagan. We strolled a bit around the town proper, took some pictures and visited the church. We took again some foodies while strolling. We even took some nap inside the church (si Maureen ang maswerte kasi nakahanap siya ng asawang di kilala, akalain mo yun, ikinasal na pala siya ng hindi namin nalalaman hehe). After waiting for an hour inside the church, Karen and her company arrived riding on a jeep (oo jeep and aming sinakyan papunta sa dagat, ganun karami ang dala nilang food, saan ka pa).

Few minutes from the town proper, we arrived in Burot Beach. The rough road along the way is dusty during dry season. Seriously, wear a mask if you are riding in an open vehicle. Your black hair will become gray, seriously!

The long travel and dusty road was all worth it when we arrived to our destination. Paying Php 65.00 for the entrance for a day tour (you can pitch a tent for overnight stay at a higher rate). We rented a tbale for Php 300.00 and we positioned underneath the tree. Thank you to Karen's mom for the foods! Darn, it was all mouth-watering (titigan mo pics at tingnan natin  kung hindi ka maglaway). We ate with our barehands (as in ang sarap lang magkamay, naglalaway tuloy ako habang sinusulat ko to, hehe).

After lunch, we got all sleepy (inaantok dahil busog tapos dagdagan mo pa ang hangin na presko, talagang tatamaan ka ng antok, hehe). Yes, we got all sleepy but time is running to we strolled the place. Took pictures here and there, include those silly stories to tell, priceless! I had so much fun with these girls I was with. Funny, crazy, silly, addict ohhhh I am running out of adjectives, haha!

The Photoshoot, LOL

Your hunky traveler :)

The place is great for a weekend getaway. Good enough for busy people who wants to unwind from the busy city. So I am posting more pictures for you to see the stretch of Burot Beach.

We left the beach around 16:00 so we can catch the last trip going back to Manila. Happy faces while leaving the area. The beach trip was great! Cool memories to be remembered. Thank you ladies for making my Burot Beach travel worth remembering! Until our next travel together.
