Cabicungan River: Claveria, Cagayan

I woke up early morning went outside and it was sunny weekend. Weather is fine to do outdoor activities. After breakfast, packed a bottled water and visited my cousin to ask him accompany to climb uphill for some interesting activity and also to visit the new cell site built on our land. It is about 500 meters or more above see level. It took one hour to reach the top. The view from the top is spectacular.

Rice fields and mountain ranges can be viewed from the top. Cabicungan River adds up the view as it is a snake that stretched along the middle of the field and at the base of the mountain dividing Cagayan and Apayao provinces.

Cabicungan River is a hydro-graphic stream located in Claveria, Cagayan. It stretches and dumps the fresh water to Claveria Bay. People living near the river are fishermen and mostly farmers. The stream serves as an irrigation to the rice fields. Also, it is a great place to have picnics especially during the summer.

After climbing, I invited my cousins, who are on vacation to go there and feel the fresh and cold water of the stream. We enjoyed swimming. You can see children on the river swimming too! You can also see carabaos and cows who are taking a plunge. Some are there cleaning up their tricycles and cars.

Cabicungan River has been a part of my life ever since I was a child. It is a good thing that even up to now it is still free from pollution and its still a big help for the people living nearby the river.

Taggat Blue Lagoon Falls: Claveria, Cagayan

Taggat Blue Lagoon not only boasts the crystal clear blue water and rocks but also it has a hidden falls. The falls is good enough for those who really want to enjoy the outdoor life and for those who are adventurous. The enjoyment would not be the same without trekking to the falls. It is a good activity to try trekking after spending time on the lagoon.

The Falls, it's summer!

Wonderful is it! The falls is very much accessible. It is approximately 200 meters from the main entrance of the lagoon. You will enjoy your trek going to the falls because air breeze is fresh and as you go higher to the cliffs, you will see the beauty of the Babuyan Sea.

Trekking!

The water is freezing fresh and clear. I do believe that the water came from the part of Cordillera Mountain Ranges. We enjoyed every moment we get there, new experience for my cousins. It's their first time vacation together in my hometown and I am sure it was memorable. We enjoyed every moment at the falls, doing crazy moves and all that.

Pictures taken can really tell how we enjoyed the moment. I am pretty sure that if they will have another vacation, they would probably go back here again.

Taggat Blue Lagoon: Claveria, Cagayan

As they say, there is no place like home. I decided to take my cousins to Taggat Blue Lagoon in Taggat Norte to have a picnic as part of our re-union celebration. This lagoon is a pride of my hometown, Claveria, Cagayan. Foreign tourists visits the area and even local tourists do, like those nearby provinces especially during the summer.

Blue Skies and Clear Blue Waters!

My high school friends joined me during the day. They visited me in the lagoon and enjoyed conversations with them.

With sweet couple: Christian and Arjennie

How would I describe the place?! It has crystal clear water. The air breeze is cold and fresh as it is situated near the virgin forest overlooking Babuyan Channel. The lagoon has nipa hut cottages which can be rented with karaoke machine which can surely enjoyed by those who got good voice.

Rocks situated along the shore is an interesting venue for pictorials. LOL :) Had so much fun jumping one from the other.

The lagoon also serves as a dock area for the fisherman in the village. There is also a convenience store in the area and shower rooms are also available.

Memories linger on the place. Even if this is in my hometown, I won't get tired in going back to this place. This is such a wonderful place to relax, enjoy and reconnects with the nature.
