St. Joseph Cathedral: Balanga City, Bataan

I got the opportunity to spend a weekend over Bataan. As a routine, I usually visit churches every time I visit new places. I included a visit to St. Joseph Cathedral in Balanga City on my 3 days and 2 nights itinerary.

This cathedral is also known as Balanga Cathedral. It is the seat of the Diocese of Balanga which comprises the civil province of Bataan. During the Japanese invasion, the cathedral was used as an artillery emplacement to bombard Mt. Samat. It was later renovated by the first bishop of the diocese, Celso Guevarra and made its patron, St. Joseph.

Good thing I stayed my first night in the city. With that, I had the chance to see how wonderful the cathedral looks like at night. So let's take a closer look on the church. Pictures were taken most likely at the same angle to capture the difference.
